Welcome to Rodrigues!

Tikulu in Rodrigues is the 7th picture book of the series “Tikulu’s Adventures” – it was written by Valentin Donzé, a young 15-year-old Rodriguan. This young author is a Tikulu fan who sent Editions Vizavi a story that takes place in his country: Rodrigues. Pascale Siew, Tikulu’s mum, immediately liked what she was reading.

Rodrigues is a small island surrounded by a turquoise lagoon. A long time ago, the Rodrigues solitaire – the Dodo’s cousin – used to live there. Even though it is now extinct, there are lots of things to discover, such as the famous Caverne Patate. The beautiful Anse Quitor Nature Reserve or the renowned Rodriguan dances such as mazok croisé, séga tambour or polka bébé cannot be overlooked! Our young readers aged 4-8 will be able to follow Tikulu and discover the treasures of this beautiful island. This picture book was published in 2004 with the help of the Fund to support publishing (Fonds de soutien à l’édition) given by the Agence intergouvernementale de la Francophonie.

The series “Tikulu’s Adventures” is available in bookstores and supermarkets throughout the island.
