The Characters

Tikulu always shares his adventures with his loyal friends. Brave and hungry for adventures, they not only roam Mauritius but also Reunion island, Rodrigues, Madagascar, Seychelles and India.

They have so many stories to tell but sshhhhh, keep quiet: let us discover them right away!

Tikulu

The hero

I am a young 10-year-old boy and you can easily recognise me thanks to my hair! I am rather calm, easy-going and very sociable. I am really connected to nature and animals are my friends – indeed, we communicate quite easily.

Dimoune

Tikulu’s best friend

He is an excellent guide, full of initiative and common sense. I don’t remember when we first met but I know it was a long time ago. He is my best friend!

Hammerkop

Cool, cool!

He is my cousin and my friend. He is nice and good-tempered but not very adventurous. He loves his food and snazzy shirts. In 2011, Hammerkop’s uncle asked us to bring polio vaccines in India in order to help kids there. It was an intense adventure!

Konker

The clever one

She is Hammerkop’s neighbour and Tikulu’s friend. Clever, lively and enterprising, she is a born leader. She knows how to keep her cool even in difficult situations. Konker is always on the look-out for new adventures. Along with Hammerkop, we set a trap for Pic-Pac, the infamous bicycle thief. The villagers were really grateful to us!

Matapan

The living strength

My friend Matapan is very brave and he is always looking for new adventures! We spend a lot of time together. We helped cane cutters in our adventure Meli-Melo in the molasses. We also took a trip to Nosy Boraha to uncover a hidden treasure. On our last journey, we saved Néréia, the Spirit of the Sea’s daughter. What an adventure!

Lalie

My faraway friend

Lalie comes from Reunion island: she guided me through her island. She came to Mauritius in order to celebrate Diwali with her Mauritian friends. I like her very much.
